Laura is originally from Syracuse NY. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Science from the State University at Brockport in Brockport, New York. She then received her Master’s Degree in Nutrition Science from Syracuse University. She then spent a year working for the Syracuse County’s WIC (Women Infants and Children) Program before she went on to Philadelphia, where she worked in an acute care hospital that included a long term care facility and out-patient weight loss counseling.
Then in 2010 She moved to Atlanta where she continued her practice in pediatrics at Childrens’ Healthcare of Atlanta in the GI (Gastrointestinal) outpatient clinic where she provided nutrition support counseling for a multitude of pediatric GI issues while specializing in feeding tube (enteral) nutrition.
After about 2.5 years at Childrens’ Healthcare of Atlanta she didn’t go too far away and started a new position as Sibley Heart Center Cardiology’s very FIRST Dietitian! There she created the nutrition protocols for the Preventive Cardiology program that specializes in children with high cholesterol, hypertension and/or Overweight/Obesity with a co-morbidity of a cardiovascular issue. She also implemented and maintains the feeding and nutrition protocols for the special care infants and children receiving nutrition support, pre and post cardiovascular surgery. She is excited to continue her journey with Sibley as well as take on new patients through Nutrition Now LLC.
Laura has been in the Fitness industry since 2004 starting out as a personal trainer for years. Laura also enjoys participating in CrossFit and going on hike’s with her husband and Huskie named Dash for exercise.
